Ottawa’s assessment centres will remain open over the holiday season and residents can continue to book an appointment for a COVID-19 test as usual. Sites, however, will have adjusted operating hours between Wednesday, December 23, 2020 and Monday, January 4, 2021.
Residents are encouraged to review their desired testing location’s hours on Ottawa Public Health’s website before making an appointment.
If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, or if you were alerted of a high risk contact by Ottawa Public Health or through the COVID Alert App, book an appointment immediately.
If your family doctor’s office is closed over the holidays and you are experiencing cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms, do not go to the emergency department. Instead, Ottawa’s COVID-19 Care and Testing Centres are available for both COVID-19 tests and a visit with a physician. If you are in distress (e.g., significant trouble breathing, chest pain, fainting, or have a significant worsening of any chronic disease symptoms), do not go to an assessment centre or a COVID-19 Care and Testing Clinic. Go to the nearest emergency department or call 9-1-1.
We all play an important role in keeping each other safe, especially this holiday season.
